remember the past

Since 2019

Founder, Sasha Ward, started off editing biomedicine higher education materials which soon expanded into other technical fields. Her interest in technical documentation originates from her degree in Publishing where she edited an excerpt of The Story of Medicine by Mary Dobson. Although Sasha is not a subject matter expert herself, she loved to read and “analyse” the scientific texts and soon enough entered the editorial niche of the specialist genre.

Sasha also works as a technical editor for a global regulatory assurance company where she works closely with SMEs and provides editorial feedback/mark-ups to adhere with client-set conventions and/or regulatory submission requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Questions And Answers

Proofreading looks at a document in its final specification which has already gone through a structural and line-by-line edit. It focuses on grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors following the design stage, whereas copyediting focuses on line-by-line syntax to ensure clarity, conciseness, and suitability to its intended audience.

A substantive edit is often an overlooked stage in the editing process; however, it should be the first consideration for any manuscript. A substantive edit provides a broader look at the overall idea behind the manuscript and ensures it is well structured and coherent for its intended market/publication.

We offer a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your needs and how we can help you. Once work commences on your documents, you will be able to book in for an initial, mid-way, or follow-up consultation (£25 for 1 hour) to discuss the upcoming/ongoing/completed work.

For clients requesting a consultation outside of our opening hours , an additional cost (+ £5) will incur.

Our Comprehensive Edit package offers the best value for money as it includes all phases of the editing process (developmental edit, line-by-line edit, copy edit, and proofreading), ensuring that your documents are in the best possible condition for publication/use. Choosing to go comprehensive will not only guarantee the condition of the final document but will save you time and money as opposed to selecting individual phases one at a time.
